Clark McDougall “Clark’s View”

Clark McDougall “Clark’s View” – December 3, 2010 – January 1, 2011

Clark McDougall would often use a window, doorway, hallway or long road as a compositional device in his paintings. He had a way of extending the view through his paintings into another space. This exhibition includes a range of watercolour and oil paintings that reveal Clark “looking through”. The paintings range in date from 1948 to 1976 and include some personal views from Clark’s own home at 56 Inkerman Street. We have also selected rare Black Enamel & Oil paintings that exemplify Clark’s mastery of pattern, colour and design.
