Photographer Susan Dobson has a busy fall with a Triennial, Art Fair, Charity Auction, feature in Harper’s Magazine and an exhibition at Fotonoviembre 2017 in Spain.

Dobson is pleased to be opening a solo exhibition in Tenerife, Spain on Nov 9, 2017. The exhibition will include selections from the Slide Library series, as well as a 114 inch x 598 inch montage of every tray of slides that contains artwork from Italy. More info HERE
2017 Art Gallery of Windsor Triennial
Dobson will be exhibiting a new work, titled Creative Destruction, at the AGW Triennial, opening on October 20. Creative Destruction features a 9 ft. x 12 ft. x 3 ft. freestanding wall that is covered on all sides by a photograph of layers of construction debris. The rubble was photographed in Leslie Street Spit, a manufactured peninsula and wilderness reserve that was built entirely from Toronto’s construction waste. The rubble depicted in the photograph is consistent with buildings that were demolished in Toronto’s downtown core in or around 1980, a period when houses and significant nineteenth century brick buildings were torn down to make room for bank and office towers symbolizing commerce, progress, and economic prosperity. The photograph provides material evidence of what has been lost, and the project aims to foreground the endless cycle of architectural destruction and displacement. More info HERE
