AJ Casson (1898-1992) is best known for his paintings of Ontario’s farmlands and forests.  Influenced by his work as a commercial artist, his carefully composed paintings are often quite structural and patterned.  This panel from the 1940s is a lively autumn scene from one of his many sketching trips in the Ontario landscape.
