Please join us on Thursday, April 13 from 8-10pm for the opening reception for Hans Wendt.

 

We are highly anticipating the upcoming solo exhibition for PEI artist Hans Wendt, his first with us since 2019.  Known for his carefully composed still-life paintings of cut, ripped, torn and stacked paper samples, this exciting new body of work turns everything on its head.

For the past three years, Wendt has pushed the watercolour medium and abstract subject further, anthropomorphizing the paper samples, injecting the new work with personality, humour and levity.  The colourfield paintings take on life, where absurd conversations and dramas ensue.
